“Smuggling Hendrix” is a black comedy/political satire about YIANNIS, a Greek-Cypriot faded musician who lives in Nicosia, close to the UN Buffer Zone. Yiannis is fed up with life on the island, with the economic crisis and the never-ending Cyprus problem. His long-time girlfriend, KIKA, just left him, while his mobster creditors are breathing down his neck. His plan is to leave Cyprus once and for all, with his beloved dog JIMI. However, his plans get turned upside down just three days before his planned departure, when Jimi runs away and crosses the buffer zone into the “Turkish side”.

A burned out soap opera writer turns his gaze upon his dysfunctional neighbours, but gets more than the inspiration he bargained for.
